Detached & Semi’s had Strongest Average Annual Price Growth Rates

July 15, 2020

From the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board’s Market Watch report:

“Average and benchmark selling prices [in June 2020] were up year-over-year [vs June 2019] for all major home types. The strongest average annual rates of price growth were experienced in the detached and semi-detached market segments in the City of Toronto at 14.3% and 22% respectively. This, coupled with the fact that average selling price growth outstripped growth in the MLS® HPI benchmarks, points to a resurgence in the higher-end market segments.”

In the Greater Toronto Area overall, the following average price increases by home type were measured in June 2020 (year-over-year, vs June 2019):

  • Detached: 10.8%
  • Semi-Detached: 11.9%
  • Townhouse: 9.8%
  • Condo Apartment: 7.0%
