Pickering actually surpassed Toronto in average home price in December. Average home prices in Toronto, Pickering, Ajax and Whitby were all pretty darn close to each other.

While this may seem like it’s a great time to sell in Pickering and move into Toronto, bear in mind that Toronto’s average home price is being weighted down by the dips in price being seen in some condo apartments… and Toronto has a lot of condo apartments.

For perspective, note that the average home price of a detached home in Toronto was $1,475,758 and in Pickering was $1,136,010 in December.
