In most cases, the seller pays the real estate commission fee and the buyer does not. However, there are some rare circumstances under which the buyer, under a contract with an agent, would be obligated to pay all or a portion of the fee (such as when the home is for sale by an owner who is not willing to pay any commission to the buyer’s agent).
Should there be any potential obligation that arises for you to pay any commission fee, then I would discuss your options with you to ensure that you are aware of the situation, before you have any legal obligation to pay any such fee.
